This is the third version of LAST (composed by Caroline Kraabel for song and improvisers) to be released (the first two, with Robert Wyatt singing, are here: carolinekraabel.bandcamp.com/album/last1-and-last2-cd).

This rendition is in three parts: first, we combine volume with space by concertation – making very brief, loud sounds, listening and trying to place them all together (all of us playing briefly, all at once).

Second, we play as quietly as possible, and continuously. In a way, the opposite of the first section. The song, LAST (words below).

Finally, Khabat Abas (shell-case cello) improvises. The rest of the orchestra watches and listens, and improvises when Khabat is not playing – starting when she stops and stopping as soon as she starts again.
